What a wonderful world!

Sir David Attenborough is literally amazing, not only with the current trend over Frozen Planet that is sweeping the nation but pretty much anything he touches turns into gold!

Ad agency RKCR/Y&R has created a trail paying homage to Sir David Attenborough's final appearance on the BBC. The two-minute spot features the renowned naturalist narrating the lyrics to Louis Armstrong classic What a Wonderful World against a backdrop of wildlife footage.
Above is the TV Spot if you haven't already seen it, REALLY worth a watch!

Jeremy Clarkson (Continued)

As in one of my earlier posts, Jeremy Clarkson was involved in a series of comments that saw his career in the air, i said myself that the BBC will take no action because Top Gear was the BBC's biggest earner and with Jeremy Clarkson at the centre of that production i did not think that he would ever get the sack.
Earlier in the week The Drum posted an article explaining how Jeremy Clarkson was supposed to be on an episode of Qi on the 10th of December but they decided to pull the show as they debated strikes with Jeremy Clarkson's controversial opinion involved.
I still hold my ground as to say that Jeremy Clarkson will not get the boot but i think that he won't be as liked as before, the BBC will still not take action, an apology at most!

Figleaves new ad campaign

Figleaves have released a new advertising campaign to accompany their recent poster campaign around the tube network of london, i found this interesting as i think that they are trying to reach in particular those that will have seen the posters around the tube network recently, as the advert itself is very misguided.
The campaign will run until the 12th of december.
Here is one of the ads if you haven't seen them already.

Computer Generated Cyborgs!!

Earlier in the the week the Drum posted an article that, if i'm honest i was not aware of!
H&M's so called models have been computer generated so that their faces are as normal but their bodes are all within the computer. This cam as a shock to me as i knew that a degree of editing took place in advertising but i was not aware that whole bodies where benign made by computers!
In addition, all of their stomachs now look the same?!

Harvey Nichols Christmas Ad!

Today, Harvey Nichols have launched a new christmas ad campaign which is a very creative tv spot.
Catch it here if you haven't already.

I think that this is a very smart way of showing their products, although i do think that Harvey Nichols as a brand didn't really appeal to the sort of girl that has to do 'the walk of shame.' Potentially, this could be a different direction for Harvey Nichols, personally i think that this will not work for them as a prestigious brand and could potentially be a poor advertising campaign.

PR Nightmare for Orange!

Recently, Orange released, via text message to their contract customers that in January 2012, they can increase the monthly cost of each customers bill by anything between 4% and 12%.
This has caused outrage as you can imagine and will most likely see a number of orange customers switching to another network.
I think one of the reasons that i would be so annoyed with this is that it would have been broken to me via text message?! Not very nice way to receive the news, a letter would have been a better choice. Although, they aren't going to have many customers left so they should save money where they can! ;)
One side of me feels that this isn't fair, but the other side thinks that the customer did sign the contract, and it is in the terms and conditions for Orange to do so.
None the less, this is going to be a great problem for Orange in the foreseeable future.

Jeremy Clarkson..

I was browsing around Twitter this morning and saw that a number of trends have appeared, such as #Clarkson, #TopGear and #theoneshow. I was intrigued so i looked further into is and this is what i could find. Last night on The One Show, Jeremy Clarkson made a comment that received 4,769 complaints already, the comment was regarding the strikes on that day, and said that he would have all of the strikers lined up and shot in front of their families, this is a shocking thing to say and rightfully so has had so many complaints. The BBC have already apologised on his behalf and it doesn't look like he will be will be fired or at least suspended. This is quite a shock as presenters in the past have said things that are not as bad as this and have been fired because of it. This is probably down to the fact that Top Gear was the BBC's biggest earner last year, and it doesn't stand a hope without him.
